SHINE Youth Festival

Really want to thank OMY for the opportunity to go for 'SHINE Youth Festival' media conference @ SCAPE Warehouse. It's great to know such event. It really does inspire you to have dreams and aspirations especially for Youths! :)

Wondering what is "SHINE Youth Festival" all about?
Yes, Youth is about young people. But how young or how old can they be?
They can be ages 15-35 which SHINE is targeting at where they hope to bring passion and aspirations in the youth hearts of what they love to do, all for the community this year through 2 initiatives which are 'Pitch to SHINE and Pledge to SHINE'.

Pitch to SHINE- it was launched this year to identify and fund youth projects that promote worthy causes and make a difference in the community that included 16 projects with themes 'Youth Culture', 'Youth Sports' and 'Youth Action' that will be carried out during SHINE 2012.

Pledge to SHINE- Letting the youths to be able to 'Fire Up Their Passion!', a new portal, has been launched for youth to pledge their aspirations at www.shine.nyc.sg.

Let's get the briefing started!!

First up, we have John and Deniece Glee Studios!!

They are looking at the revolution of Show Choirs in Singapore as they aim to integrate the various disciplines of performing arts and connecting with the younger generation through medium of music, while inspiring, educating and nurturing creative young talents of the future.

Next, a short Q&A with Martin Tan(Chairman SHINE 2012 Steering Committee) and Muhammed Nabil(Co-Chair SHINE Organising Committee).

Why was it introduced this year and what inspired to do it?
SHINE was 2 yrs old, and there's good friends to help connecting. To build upon success of SHINE and evolution to heighten it. Showcasing the different talents in each youth and able to do it for a cause that can influence and impact others in their lives.
Doing something and get it more attraction(more people to notice). Aspiration with a purpose, how big can we dream. Youth for the community. Meeting different challenges as time passes and SHINE has grown more.

Next, the DREAMCATCHERS!!
